Dear Lanier Students,
Tennis team tryouts are Feb. 4th, 2025 for girls and Feb. 6th, 2025 for boys from 4:30-5:45pm at the Lamar HS tennis courts, please see the tennis calendar tab on this website. The team consists of 6th, 7th and 8th grader tennis players, 10 girls and 10 boys. No physical is necessary for the tennis team because it is a club sport.
For tryouts you will get a score on forehand, backhand, serving and net/volleying shots, top scores make the team.
For the tryouts please have; tennis racket, appropriate clothing (you should be able to hold at least one tennis ball in your clothing/pocket while you're playing), shoes/sneakers on for tennis and water bottle filled with water.
The latest instruction from Lamar HS administration on where to park and drop off at Lamar HS:
The parking garage will be open at 4:30 for parents to come park. They can exit the southeast stairwell and walk to the tennis courts if they want to watch. They can also drop off by the parking garage and then sit and wait on Eastside Drive. The kids can walk up the walkway on Eastside to access the tennis courts.
You will see the tennis courts fenced in, in between two baseball fields.
