Dear Lanier Students,
Tennis team tryouts are Feb. 4th, 2025 for girls and Feb. 6th, 2025 for boys from 4:30-5:45pm at the Lamar HS tennis courts, please see the tennis calendar tab on this website. The team consists of 6th, 7th and 8th grader tennis players, 10 girls and 10 boys. No physical is necessary for the tennis team because it is a club sport.
For tryouts you will get a score on forehand, backhand, serving and net/volleying shots, top scores make the team.
For the tryouts please have; tennis racket, appropriate clothing (you should be able to hold at least one tennis ball in your clothing/pocket while you're playing), shoes/sneakers on for tennis and water bottle filled with water.
Lamar HS would like parents to park in the parking lot on Westheimer by the Performing Arts Center/Football field. Parents are not allowed on to any part of the athletic facility. You have to drop your student off from that parking lot and pick them up from the gate entrance to the athletic facility.
Once you park in the lot on Westheimer, walk to the athletic facility gate/fence in the back of the parking lot. The fence that runs along the football field. Follow the large pathway past the football field. You will see the tennis courts fenced in, in between two baseball fields.

Please complete the "Tennis Release Form" attached below, you can upload it to tryouts signup google form or leave it in my faculty mailbox in Office B.
